I love avocados. Not only do they taste great but they have loads of healthy fats help nourish your skin, and help protect it from the visible signs of aging. The fats also help your body absorb vitamins and nutrients, so helping also to fuel your body with energy. Some people call avocados the “crocodile pear” and I can see why! Cool name.
Top tip: Blitz into a smoothie with some fruit, or turn it into a healthy dip yum!
All berries are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, and on top of this they are delicious. Free radical damage is associated with aging faster thus a good variety of antioxidant rich food may defend against this and help in the desire for youthful skin.
Top tip: Add a scoop of berries on top of your breakfast or use them with natural yoghurt - Yum!
Chia seeds are a great source of fibre, and another way to get beneficial Omega 3’s into your system if you don’t like oily fish. Good digestion and Omega 3 could play a part in youthful skin 😊
Top tip: Add a tablespoon of chia seeds to your favourite smoothie recipe. Chia seeds help make a cool smoothie texture and go well with most smoothies.
My all time favourite is coconut oil. I just love this stuff, of course I use it in my cooking, I love the flavour but I also like to use it as a skin care product. Coconut Oil is a natural moisturiser and it’s also anti bacterial and anti fungal to boot. This helps to eliminate the growth of bacteria which can lead to issues with the skin, as well as keeping the skin moist and smooth.
Top tip: You could even use coconut oil on your teeth. It can be mixed with baking soda and peppermint oil to make an amazing toothpaste or be used as a mouth wash (again useful due to the antibacterial nature).
