Ingredients 

 

  •  250g yellow split peas
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2  tsp turmeric 
  • 1 tsp red chilli, finel chopped
  • 800ml boiling water 
  • Salt and pepper

 

To serve

  • 150g brown rice

 

Cooking Directions - Slow Cooker Recipe

  1. Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker
  2. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours.
  3. Cook the rice as per the packet instructions and serve with Dhal

Tips:

 

You can make extra and freeze for up to 3 months before cooking. Add the extra Dhal (without rice) to a date labelled freezer bag. Defrost thoroughly in the fridge before reheating in a saucepan over a medium heat. Ensure heated through thoroughly before serving.
