Yellow Chana Dhal
- 250g yellow split peas
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp red chilli, finel chopped
- 800ml boiling water
- Salt and pepper
- 150g brown rice

- Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker
- Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours.
- Cook the rice as per the packet instructions and serve with Dhal
You can make extra and freeze for up to 3 months before cooking. Add the extra Dhal (without rice) to a date labelled freezer bag. Defrost thoroughly in the fridge before reheating in a saucepan over a medium heat. Ensure heated through thoroughly before serving.
